Day 8
Bethlehem
The Hebrew Bible identifies Bethlehem as the city David was from. The New Testament identifies Bethlehem as the birthplace of Jesus. The town is inhabited by one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, although the size of the community has shrunk due to emigration.
Western Wall
The Western Wall Tunnel is an underground tunnel exposing the full length of the Western Wall. The tunnel is adjacent to the Western Wall and is located under buildings of the Old City of Jerusalem. While the open-air portion of the Western Wall is approximately 60 meters (200 ft) long, the majority of its original length is hidden underground. The tunnel allows access to an additional 485 meters (1,591 ft) of the wall.
The Garden Tomb
The Garden Tomb located in Jerusalem, outside the city walls and close to the Damascus Gate, is a rock-cut tomb considered by some to be the site of the burial and Resurrection of Jesus, and is adjacent to Golgotha, where the Messiah was crucified.
