Day 6
Ein Gedi
At Ein Gedi we will walk up to the waterfall and back. Ein Gedi is the place were David was hiding in a cave from King Saul. King Saul was also sleeping in the same cave where David cut a piece off of the robe of King Saul.
Masada
Masada is an ancient fortification in the Southern District of Israel, on top of an isolated rock plateau on the eastern edge of the Judaean Desert, overlooking the Dead Sea.Herod the Great built palaces for himself on the mountain and fortified Masada between 37 and 31 BCE. The Siege of Masada by troops of the Roman Empire towards the end of the First Jewish–Roman War ended in the mass suicide of the 960 Jewish rebels and their families holed up there.
Ein Bokek
Not everyone knows that in the south-western part of the Dead Sea, in the area of the hotels, next to the commercial center of Ein Bokek, there is also a bathing beach that is open to everyone, free of charge. The Ein Bokek Beach actually includes two beaches: the southern and the central, and they both offer shades, chairs for rent and BBQ facilities. These beaches are relatively not very busy. One can also stay the night in a tent here free of charge. This is perhaps the time to mention that despite the fact that one can float in the Dead Sea water, one can also still drown. So please be careful.
